Growing up in New York City, my family didn’t celebrate Halloween or go pumpkin picking. Apparently, I’ve been missing out all these years. This year we decided to do more than just trick or treat. We went pumpkin picking at Linvilla Orchards, PA.

There Was something at Linvilla for each person: Asha had a blast picking pumpkins, playing at the playground, and even feeding the farm animals. I was able to purchase some fresh apple cider, homemade potato donuts, and of course pumpkin latte! Ade enjoyed photographing the entire day.

Now that we’d  brought all these pumpkins home, I had to figure out how to actually carve a pumpkin. I purchased a carving set from Amazon.com, prime of course. Then watched a few video tutorials on YouTube. Asha was a great helper. She had conversations with each pumpkin after gutting them. “Wow mommy, a jack – o – lantern!”

I’m actually happy to create these memories with my family. We put out the jack – o – lanterns then got dressed up for Halloween. Three unicorns for the win!
